Advanced Drainage Systems
Flexstorm Inlet Filter Line

Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (ADS) has added the storm water inlet filter units of Inlet & Pipe Protection, Inc. to its product line. The announcement was made recently by both companies. The exclusive marketing agreement includes FLEXSTORM™ Inlet Filters known for their technological advantage, favorable economics, ease of use and ability to trap debris. The FLEXSTORM adjustable design allows it to fit any drainage structure and provide maximum protection.

“We are very pleased to add these storm water sediment control units to our product line,” stated Tori Durliat, director of marketing for ADS. “FLEXSTORM helps contractors and communities to meet the EPA’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II Storm Water Rule which is designed to protect our nation’s water. Each FLEXSTORM model effectively filters silt, solids and other pollutants. These are the types of products that ADS has always sought out to help our environment.”

Jamie Ringenbach, president of Naperville, IL-based Inlet & Pipe Protection agreed. “State DOTs and municipalities across the country are struggling to comply with mandates set forth by the EPA to find universally accepted structural best management practices (BMP) to address the issue of storm water inlet protection.

“ADS is recognized throughout the industry for their experienced and knowledgeable sales and engineering support teams,” he continued. “We will utilize these resources to educate engineers and regulatory authorities, helping to simplify the process of inlet protection from selection to implementation at a time when choosing the right product for the job has never been more complex. FLEXSTORM with its configurable, adjustable filter frame suspension provides a low-maintenance and highly-effective solution that will complement the ADS line of products.”

FLEXSTORM Inlet Filters are now available in curb box, flat rectangular, gutter/V-grate, rolled curb and round inlet filter configurations from local ADS distribution centers. Each is adjustable and reusable. The unit is made up of a rigid steel frame that supports a suspended sediment bag that filters storm water runoff below grade through a geotextile fabric. For contractors the units reduce costs because they’re very easy to install, and the entire filter system can be taken to the next job site and reused.

According to Ringenbach, “Engineers are specifying the use of the below grate system more and more because they find it prevents hazardous inlet ponding, road icing and jobsite erosion.”
Founded in 1966, ADS is the world’s largest producer of corrugated high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. It has global network of 42 domestic and international manufacturing plants and more than 30 distribution centers.
